Shylock
Ran November 6th through 24th
written and performed by
Gareth Armstrong.
Received four out of four stars from the Free Press and rave
reviews from all other media. Royal Shakespeare alumnus Gareth Armstrong in his award
winning performance of Shylock. The solo performance is an
exploration of the funny, tragic, and often unbelievable life of
fiction’s most famous Jew. Told through the eyes of
Shylock’s friend Tubal, the only other Jewish character in The
Merchant of Venice, the show, retells the story conjuring up the
playwright, the players, the passion and the prejudices in the
400 years of Shylock’s turbulent life. As a performer he
provides all the theatricality needed.

Denial
Peter Sagal
Ran
February 26 through
March 30, 2003
This play is about a harmless looking, self effacing college
professor who writes articles, is published and avidly read and
quoted by right wing extremists. He has written an inflammatory
book denying the Holocaust. He has indicted by the government
for inciting violence. He seeks out the ACLU and their leading
Jewish attorney for his defense, a woman known for her
aggressive style and enormous court room success. And that is
how it begins.
A mixture of a powerful story brought to life by a powerful
cast.
